Remember children, never read the comments.

Thankfully a police officer happened to be in the neighborhood pretty quickly after it happened, so I flagged him down and then a fire fighter who lived nearby saw us and came to help as well.

Watched a guy lose control of his motorcycle and get thrown from it on my way back from lunch. Called 911, and made sure he was OK. Bone sticking out his leg, huge road rash on his butt. Could hardly move, he was at least wearing a jacket & helmet, it could have been far worse.

I’ve been having a lot of dreams about lawn care. I wonder what that means? 🤔

The new Skype for Business on Mac is a significantly less awful UI experience than the last time I used it.

Self guided benefit orientation is such a great idea, especially if you’re someone who’s changed jobs anytime in the last 5 years, when it’s all basically the same things. No need to sleep in front of the HR folks.

Anyone used Radio Silence before? Seems to be a little less complicated than Little Snitch. radiosilenceapp.com

I must be getting old. The default resolution setting on the new 15" MacBook Pro is way too high. One notch down matches the previous 15" setting, and is so much easier to read.

VMware TAM

I have accepted a job with VMware, as a Technical Account Manager (TAM). To say I’m excited about this would be a gross understatement. VMware has been the company I’ve spent the majority of my technical focus on up to this point, and since announcing this change on Twitter last week I’ve been thrilled with the replies like “I’ve been here 4 years and it’s an amazing place to work.” During the interview process, one of the current TAM’s told me point blank: “This is the best job I’ve had in my career.

Just found out my CCNA-DC expired at the start of this month. Seems like something Cisco should have tried to warn me about?

Although in this case, I’ll have only worked for the new owner for 2.5 weeks. Not worth mentioning.

Or my company that was just recently acquired. They’ve not yet rebranded us to the corporate parent. At some point they likely will. Is that a new entry? Does it start at the purchase, or the date the rebrand happens?

Recent example, LinkedIn contact lists DellEMC as employer since 2010, but that brand didn’t exist prior to 2016. So which one did he work for then? 🤷‍♂️

I’ve been writing, editing, and rewriting this blog post for over a week and it still sucks.

What happens 9 months before today on the calendar? So many people I know with birthdays today.

Blueberry Lover

Occasionally I’ll wear my “blueberry” VMware certification shirt to work. Some people in the community love these shirts, some people don’t. I, do. Blue also happens to be my favorite color. Occasionally someone I work with in my current workplace will comment on it. Before the last year, it was a bit of personal marketing while working as a VAR engineer. When I’d show up on site maybe there was a bit of “you can trust me because hey look it says right here I’m not some rando off the street.

One of the guys I work with pronounces meme as “Me-Me” … I love the way he say it so much, I refuse to correct him.
