2010

There is some stuff going on with the NBA, and Ohio, but I really don’t care because… it’s the NBA and Ohio.

Also, plugged it into the Ford Sync system in my Fusion, worked perfectly. Better than the iPhone because the BT doesn’t fight for control.

Forget the Fender edition myTouch 3G, my Nexus One looks and sounds way cooler with a little Slowhand action loaded up and ready to go.

Got my 16GB microSD card (SanDisk) for my Nexus One today, used doubleTwist to transfer my iTunes library load up all my music.

Bummed. I was going to assist National Guard next Saturday with an exercise but the training for it conflicts with first day at the new job.

Another shot. I think the black dome is comm jammer. I remember seeing something on TV about it. twitpic.com/2312l0

Followed what I assume is a Secret Service truck on my way home from work. twitpic.com/23129o

My neck is out of whack, so painful I can hardly move my head. I’d stay home but I only really have about three days left of work this week.

Off to see the Corporate Woods fireworks display in Overland Park.

“I had my own fireworks display in the bedroom last night!” (My wife, talking about being able to see our neighbors firework display.)

No tax’n without represent’n!

Doh! My flickr pro account expired. I guess I should have been paying attention to the warnings last month. Oops.

The 4th of July, the celebration of independence where we char animal flesh, consume fermented grains, and pretend we’re munitions experts.

Honestly. Who steals an American flag? What a bunch of pricks.

New official Android 2.2 build for Nexus One out tonight, installed in just a few minutes.

Got an invite to the Digg Alpha today, am I special or did everyone get it?

Managed to convince AT&T to give me unlimited data on my new contract since the work one still had it.

After iOS

As I explained in a previous entry on Tuesday, I’ve made the decision to leave the world of Apple mobile devices for the land of Google Android. To briefly bring you up to speed: Ever since the iPhone supported Exchange, I’ve been a huge supporter. I’ve spent two good years on the iOS with my iPhone 3G. … When the iPhone 4 was announced, I followed the WWDC keynote with great anticipation.

FYI: I had to call Google support on my N1 after lunch (which turned out to be an AT&T issue) but their tech was really friendly and helpful

My phone number is back off of the work account, active on a new SIM and in my Nexus One. I’m now fully transferred and iPhoneless.

What a great way to spend the day. Dentist for fillings (first ever) and on with AT&T about service changes for hours!

Playing with the Android app for Twitter.

I am really struck by the fact that order to door, Google had this phone to me in less than 24 hours, and at no additional cost to me.

Color quality on the iPhone 4 is obviously much higher, although it seems like the Nexus has a better focus. I need to do more testing.

Doing DR testing all week. Just in time to leave this company for a new one in another week.

Less than 24 after it was ordered, Nexus One is sitting at my office. Problem is, I’m on the other side of town all day!

Two things I enjoy but have done way too little of in the last year: writing and photography – I need to figure out how to correct that.

Wow! Nexus One has already shipped, should be here tomorrow afternoon. Go Google!

And it starts… on day one.

Just got benefits info from new employer. Total cost of health/dental/vision coverage for just me (wife on hers) will be: $6 per month.
