2010

All my media technology is letting me down at the end of 2010. I’m going to start 2011, Amish.

So wait, the Apple TV doesn’t stream rented movies it has to download the whole thing first? #fail

Gmail keeps letting in fake blog comment spam. One of the hamseters must be asleep at the wheel.

My Twitter value is $251.42, according to www.twalue.com … What about yours? #twalue

The last roll of Kodachrome is being developed today in Kansas nyti.ms/fvGOYp

Although that doesn’t mean I don’t have anything to do, it’s just not in my email!

Currently at Inbox 0 on both personal and work accounts. Trying hard to maintain and to start the year off fresh.

Giving wunderlist a whirl.

I’m probably a little behind the times, but I’m getting my Quora account setup finally.

I have files on a network share I want to sync to my laptop for local access, what’s the best tool (on Windows) for doing that?

Feels like Sunday night, on Tuesday. Back to work tomorrow. For two days.

Last Passed

If the recent Gawker password breach (re)taught us anything, it’s the old and valued lesson of “don’t use the same password everywhere” — but as often as I repeat that phrase and cringe a little bit when I find out someone else did it, I’ve been just as guilty of this cardinal sin of network security myself… from time to time. I’ve been forcing myself to use the Mozilla Firefox nightlies (Minefield) instead of Chrome for the last week or so. Starting to grow on me.

Just found out there is no meat at the dinner my wife is having for her friends at our house tonight, because one one of them eat it. blah

They both had cheap flip phones before. Spent the holiday explaining 3G, E, Wifi, Bluetooth, SMS, MMS, etc.

My (non technical) Dad and father in law both got iPhone 4 this week. Interesting to watch newbies discover all the ways it dominates.

Been considering getting a Kindle 3 after the holidays. Thoughts?

Late night VM version 7 upgrades. Changed block tracking for Veeam backups on all machines, here I come!

Chrome 10 beta is bundling Web Apps with the installer, naughty naughty. That crap will make me want to quit using it.

Giving Firefox 4 beta 8 a whirl, seeing some big improvements over version 7 in performance. Going to have to use it for a while.

RIP grandma, somewhere I hope there are some bagpipes playing just for you.

Apple, stop trying to fucking install Safari and MobileMe CP when I update iTunes. I don’t even want iTunes, but it’s a needed evil. KTXBY!

Depressing week ahead: Funeral for my grandmothers long time boyfriend tomorrow, now her already bad health has gone south since he died.

Congrats to all my gay friends, I expect you all to head down to the nearest Army/AF/Navy/MC recruiter next week for your enlistment papers.

My YibiKey just came in the mail! Time for some two-factor LastPass action!

Are they really going to vote to end #DADT today!? That’d be pretty epic.

CR48 coming to my zip code got delayed yesterday. Another day to wait to see if Google loves me or not.

Whats worse, sites that don’t warrant a complex password that require it or those that do and won’t allow it?

Work is rolling out new “now with benevolent corporate overlords” logo update today. sigh
